Grant Blake LARKIN September 18, 1925 - April 1, 2013 Grant Larkin passed away on April 1, 2013 at Delta Hospital at the age of 87 of natural causes. He was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years Paddy, and his second wife of 13 years Lois Jacqueline, and is survived by his sister Doris Kavanagh (Pat), daughter Kathleen (Bill), son Bruce (Kris) and their children Ashley (14) and Connor (10). Grant was born in Saskatoon and moved to Vancouver in his high school years with his parents Charlie and Eva. He attended Lord Byng high school and went on to UBC where he graduated with a B.Sc. Dairy Science. He started his career with Arctic Dairy which then became Dairyland. Grant was the plant manager for most of his tenure and was instrumental in designing and building the Dairyland plant on Louheed Hwy in Burnaby. He loved his job and retired after 39 years at the age of 60. Grant led a full and active life. He played rugby for the Vancouver Rowing Club and then the Evergreen's over 40 Club where he was President for many years and organized several international tournaments. He loved to play tennis and squash at the Arbutus Club and was one of the original members. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and golf. Grant served in the militia with the B.C. Regiment and was Lt. Colonel and Commanding Officer in the early 70's. Grant spent most of his life with his family living in Kerrisdale on Cypress St. where he had many friends and neighbours. There will be a celebration of Grant's life on Wed. April 17 from 2-4 at the Vancouver Lawn and Tennis Club, 1630 W. 15th Ave. Vancouver.
